This was the third boat of the Örnen-series. The Svanö was very popular in Scandinavia where most of the boats were sold. Some boats were also deliverd to the U.S. and therefor equiped with two engines.
The Bergö was the enhanced Version of the Svanö / Baltic 24. The boat got its name from the biggest dealer at that time Gösta Berg. The design was done by the famous Einar Runius.
The Bergö was produced at a time when coloured hulls were in fashion. Instead of the classic white or clear lacquered hulls, ships were now delivered in blue and green pastel shades or even black. The photos show for example a Bergö with a pastel blue hull. Especially the Kungskryssaren was offered in a wide range of colours.
As with the Solö Ruff, there was the problem with the Svanö/Bergö name for international distribution. So the ship was also sold as Baltic 24 (Svanö) or Express Cruiser (Bergö).
Head of production Tage Truedsson always resisted the Svanö/Bergö distinction. For him, all ships of this pattern were Svanö. Also in the shipyard's books ships of this type are listed either as Kabinbåt or Svanö. It is therefore not clear from the serial number whether it is a Svanö or Bergö.
For identification of the type, the following matrix shall supply with a few pointers (Note: This information is not conclusively confirmed! Feedback on details or corrections is requested):
