Concept

The motorboat Örnen and the passbåt Örnen (Vindö) were among the young shipyard's first in-house developments. Mahogany or oak and Oregon pine were used for the construction. Fine brass fittings were used. The Örnen motorboat was built primarily for private anglers.

Miscellaneous

The pictures of the motorboat Örnen show the boat with the serial number 15/52 (the 15th Örnen, built in 1952) from the Bruksmuseum in Storebro. The shipyard had endeavoured for many years to acquire an original copy. By chance, it was possible to obtain this specimen from the estate of a local resident. The son of the deceased had wanted to find out from the shipyard what he could probably ask for such a boat. The boat was then no longer offered on the open market and the shipyard bought the boat.
The condition of the boat was excellent apart from the cracked rudder blade, so the boat was essentially just repainted. Small screw holes with black edges indicate the actual age of the boat.

In 1955, the boat was offered in both mahogany and oak. It is difficult to understand today that the boat built in mahogany was SEK 200:- cheaper than the boat built in oak at a price of SEK 5,550:-.
