The Storö II was the successor of the well-known Storö I. The boat used the same basic design which allowed safe cruising at open sea.

The ship was designed by Otto Scheen, who also designed the Storö I. The Storö II was the direct predecessor of the successful Storö III, which used the same hull.

Although only six ships of this type were built, at least five different engines were used. Noteworthy here also the hull number 977 with double stern drive.
